I have recently discovered a love for protein balls. I needed a healthy option for breakfasts and thought I would try it out. I did a search on Pinterest for recipes and found that I didn’t have all of the ingredients for any of them, so I made up my own as a combination of several I found! (There are affiliate links included here.)
I use Juice Plus and buy the Juice Plus shakes as the protein powder for mine (and you can order here if you’re interested….Juice Plus) but otherwise you can use whichever protein powder you prefer. This is another really popular one that you can get on Amazon…Designer Protein Whey Grass-Fed Advanced Natural Whey Protein Powder, Chocolate Fudge, 1.85 Pound“. If you love chocolate covered peanut butter balls (or Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups)…you are going to love these! And the best part is that they are so healthy! You can eat these completely guilt free!
Ingredients:
- 3/4 Cup of Peanut (or Almond) Butter
- 1 Cup of Rolled Oats
- 2 Tablespoons of Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 2 Tablespoons of Honey
- 2 Teaspoons of Vanilla
- 1/4 Cup of Chocolate Protein Powder
I combine all of the ingredients into my smaller Ninja and mix it up. Side note…if you don’t have one of these little gadgets, you need one! They are a favorite in our house! Learn about them here… Ninja 400-Watt Blender/Food Processor for Frozen Blending, Chopping and Food Prep with 48-Ounce Pitcher and 16-Ounce Chopper Bowl (QB900B), Silver“
I pull the blades out and then mix the last little bit together with my hands. Roll into 1-2 inch balls. Place on wax paper and put in the freezer for 30 minutes. I then take them out and divide up into 2s to put into Ziploc bags. I throw them back in the freezer and grab a bag on my way out the door of a morning!
Enjoy! (With coffee…they are perfect!)
